I Wore a Wig and Sang Mama Mia

On Wednseday 4th of September we had our first workshops. Our first workshop was Positive Parties. At 9.05. we headed down to room 21 and there was a big sign on the door saying 'The Party's Here' and there were hula hula necklaces on the chairs with sweets. When Positive Denise arrived she gave us all name tags to wear to show how we felt and our names, i was 'Crazy Sarah Lou'. There was such a good vibe in the room. The first activity we did involed underwear...now at first we were kinda like what is she going to want us todo. We then got into pairs and had to put the underwear(which were never worn phewww!) on in as many different ways as we could. Aoife and I won, we got a chocolate bar yaaaay! Then we learned how to anchor postive moments and My friends and I volunteered to 'help' out and we ended up wearing colourful wigs and singing Mama Mia. Then we learned tricks on how to block out other peoples negative energy. In the end of the workshop, i was feeling great and having a blast! We then said goodbye and that we would see her in a few weeks.

My Class Tereshkova

Then our next workshop was 'Living Life Without Limits' and a guy named Austin was talking to us. The moment he entered he had a massive smile on his face and he was so welcoming and friendly. I knew it would be another amazing workshop. We worked on presenting ourselves, having confidence and facing our fears. We learnt how words aren't the most important asset in confidence and first impressions, actions and tones are. We played games that played with our minds and showed us how our eyes can trick us into seeing things that aren't real. It was another great workshop and I'm glad I got the experience to try it.

The final workshop was about energy and releasing stress. She started off by showing us how to control the energy and ground it. Then we connected with our friends and one received and the other was the giver and gave the energy. We also learned how to massage properly and we learned different strokes. We learned a stress release technique.
By the end of the day I was positive, confident and relaxed. It was a great day.

Taste of Ty

It was really nerve wrecking as I was worried, I would be put in a class where I didn't know anyone or I wouldn't fit in. The weeks before I went into TY were full of preparing and finding work experience, getting a senior skirt and realising I only had a few years till I would be sitting and doing my leaving cert. The night before I was due to start back was full of nerves and question going through my head. Then the next morning I put on my uniform and look in the mirror, and realised I was extremely excited for this day and more importantly this year. When I got into school I was a bit confused on where to go but then I seen a note saying a TY assembly at 9.05. When the bell rang for everyone to go to classes, I headed to the 2nd year mall and sat with my friends. We all talked about what work experience, we had and what classes we would get to do. Then Ms L came out and everyone became quite while she called out our class names. Tabei, Tereshkova and Cornaro..at first I was curious as to why Ms L had picked them, then she explained how Tabei was the first women to climb Mount Everest, Tereshkvoa was the first women in space and Cornaro was the first women to receive a degree. As she started calling out the names for who was in what class, my nerves kicked in. I heard my name and then my friends names. I was so happy we were all in the same class. As the day went by I got to meet my teachers and my tutor and get to know my class. In some subjects we were put into groups like home economics and science. I was put into groups of people I didn't know really well and even in the first 40 minutes I got to know them and I know I will I really enjoy working with my groups and I will definitely  enjoy this year. I am looking to working hard and enjoying this year. I was nervous before but know I'm starting to settle in and cant wait to enjoy the year to come. So my frist few days were full of nerves, smiles and getting to know new people..
