A trip to NAAS!!

On the 20th of September, our whole year headed off to Naas on a double decker bus. We were going to a talk on Mini Company. When we arrived our teachers hadn't warned us there'd be other schools...with boys!! :O

She gave us great tips on how simple ideas are the best and to try be inventive. We had a great laugh and great fun coming up with ideas for pens and paper clips. Some ideas even inspired peoples ideas the had already.

We the were allowed go to Mc Donalds yaaaaaay! yum yum yum and then we got the bus back to the school and we were in time for a few classes:( it was great though. I learned so much!!

Laughter Yoga HAHAHA

So on the 18th of September the day after Carlingford we had more workshops. We were all so tired and I had a cold and felt horrible. I still went into school because I didn't want to miss the experience.

Our first workshop was the massage again. This time it was head massage. It was so relaxing, I felt great after it. It was so cool the way we learned how to take headaches away and how to help someone relax...I showed my sister the other day to help get rid of her headache and she it worked!! It was great experience!

Our second workshop was Laughter Yoga, it was so hilarious. We put on masks and had to fake laugh until our laughter become real. Some people didn't enjoy it and it was a bit different from things we usually do but you just have to get into and enjoy. It was a fun and weird experience.

Our final workshop was about walking in heels and skincare. It was my favorite of the 3 that day. I learned things that i would use in the future. It also inspired my idea for mini company. All in all the day was amazing even if we were tired.

Walking through the forest? In the middle of the night? Wearing a blindfold? Is that even safe?..

Laser Combat
Well seem idly it is.. as it was one of those amazing experience Ty got to experience this year in Carlingford. We had geat craic at laser combat then we started off by piling on our clothes and i mean piling on..it was bloddy freezing..if you know was the cold is like then double than and youd be half way there to the icy feeling of a night in Carlingford. Then we started walking up this massive hill and i mean massive hill. I fell a few times but sure a few cuts and bruises are worth it. When we were halk way there we stopped and played a gamw known as 'Forest Ninjas' and mean being the hyper enthusiastic person i am volunteered to be on. Everyone must go hid in the forest and i must find them before the 3 round are up..it was incredibly difficult. When the game was over we headed down towards the laser combat site to get to the Nightwalk course.

Laser Combat with Laura and Aoife
It was so exciting and also a being frighting! We all put on our blindfolds and I took the lead I was told that I would have to guide everyone through safely. It was so fun but Ben kept scaring us and making us scream. I fell and loads. But had great craic. It was so much fun and we scared the hell out of the other group. We had a laugh walking back to thwe centre. Messing about how scared everyone was and just having fun.

Jenny and I stuffing our faces
The next day we were due to go out on the water, kayaking. I was feeling a little tired and my head hurt a bit because I had banged it on the bunk bed. But i still wanted the experience. We got in to the wet cfold wetsuit and it was FREEZING! But i knew it would be worth it. We had loads of fun kayaking across and we went into a tunnel but I was so cold that I had to be taken out of the water and warmed up! I spent the rest of the day in the centre sleeping and warming up, I wasnt alone as two of my friends were sick too.

All in all the experience was amazing and i really would love to go again...

The devil was in Castletown house?!?

So on the 12th of September after everyone had almost recovered from the night before, we visited Castletown House in the local area. It was raining and everyone thought we would have to walk in the rain ALL the way to Castletown House. Our history teacher then surprised us by saying there was a bus waiting out front to take us there..YAAAYYYY! :)

We then arrived at Castletown and we were all split up into our classes and the taken on a tour of the building. We started off by learning a bit of background history and looking at the main entrance...

We were then told about the haunting of Castletown, this is a story about a devil cracking a mirror and the fireplace and vanishing in a cloud of smoke.

Then we seen the bedrooms and the newer styled rooms..

It was such a great day and then we got a group photo and it was such an amazing experience and i am so happy I had a chance to go and see the house.

Dooms Day...

The moment of truth finally came. I was completely terrified. I hadn't done amazing in the mocks because I hadnt worked hard enough to achieve what I was capable of. When  received my mocks results i decided i would get everything up a grade. When I was lining up for receiving my results, my hands, legs and every part of me was shaking. They gave us our results in envelops, I was so terrified to open it. As everyone else began ripping them open. I stood there staring at it. I then said I quick bye and ran out to my mom and we opened it together. my hands were shaking but I eventually opened it and the first result I seen was a B and i started crying as I began to see my other results, I was so happy. I thought i had failed but I passed everything and got 7Bs.

My Moms friends were all calling and texting, asking how I got on. I was so happy! My Mom took me to lunch with my aunt and sister. I then went to get my hair and make-up done for results night. I was going to mantra with my friends. My mom had surprized me with new heels and a dress. I was so excited. When we went out I danced all the night long and enjoyed the day. All in all I loved spending the day with my mom and the night with my girls. I am delighted with my results.

I Wore a Wig and Sang Mama Mia

On Wednseday 4th of September we had our first workshops. Our first workshop was Positive Parties. At 9.05. we headed down to room 21 and there was a big sign on the door saying 'The Party's Here' and there were hula hula necklaces on the chairs with sweets. When Positive Denise arrived she gave us all name tags to wear to show how we felt and our names, i was 'Crazy Sarah Lou'. There was such a good vibe in the room. The first activity we did involed underwear...now at first we were kinda like what is she going to want us todo. We then got into pairs and had to put the underwear(which were never worn phewww!) on in as many different ways as we could. Aoife and I won, we got a chocolate bar yaaaay! Then we learned how to anchor postive moments and My friends and I volunteered to 'help' out and we ended up wearing colourful wigs and singing Mama Mia. Then we learned tricks on how to block out other peoples negative energy. In the end of the workshop, i was feeling great and having a blast! We then said goodbye and that we would see her in a few weeks.

My Class Tereshkova

Then our next workshop was 'Living Life Without Limits' and a guy named Austin was talking to us. The moment he entered he had a massive smile on his face and he was so welcoming and friendly. I knew it would be another amazing workshop. We worked on presenting ourselves, having confidence and facing our fears. We learnt how words aren't the most important asset in confidence and first impressions, actions and tones are. We played games that played with our minds and showed us how our eyes can trick us into seeing things that aren't real. It was another great workshop and I'm glad I got the experience to try it.

The final workshop was about energy and releasing stress. She started off by showing us how to control the energy and ground it. Then we connected with our friends and one received and the other was the giver and gave the energy. We also learned how to massage properly and we learned different strokes. We learned a stress release technique.
By the end of the day I was positive, confident and relaxed. It was a great day.

Taste of Ty

It was really nerve wrecking as I was worried, I would be put in a class where I didn't know anyone or I wouldn't fit in. The weeks before I went into TY were full of preparing and finding work experience, getting a senior skirt and realising I only had a few years till I would be sitting and doing my leaving cert. The night before I was due to start back was full of nerves and question going through my head. Then the next morning I put on my uniform and look in the mirror, and realised I was extremely excited for this day and more importantly this year. When I got into school I was a bit confused on where to go but then I seen a note saying a TY assembly at 9.05. When the bell rang for everyone to go to classes, I headed to the 2nd year mall and sat with my friends. We all talked about what work experience, we had and what classes we would get to do. Then Ms L came out and everyone became quite while she called out our class names. Tabei, Tereshkova and Cornaro..at first I was curious as to why Ms L had picked them, then she explained how Tabei was the first women to climb Mount Everest, Tereshkvoa was the first women in space and Cornaro was the first women to receive a degree. As she started calling out the names for who was in what class, my nerves kicked in. I heard my name and then my friends names. I was so happy we were all in the same class. As the day went by I got to meet my teachers and my tutor and get to know my class. In some subjects we were put into groups like home economics and science. I was put into groups of people I didn't know really well and even in the first 40 minutes I got to know them and I know I will I really enjoy working with my groups and I will definitely  enjoy this year. I am looking to working hard and enjoying this year. I was nervous before but know I'm starting to settle in and cant wait to enjoy the year to come. So my frist few days were full of nerves, smiles and getting to know new people..

My first day as a senior
