Oh Holly Dayss

On Wednesday the 12th of December the whole of ty headed off into town. We were volunteering at The DSPCC by selling holly on the streets of Dublin.

We each wore a Santa hat, a yellow vest to show we were volunteering. We then got a box of holly badges and a little white un-openable box to put the money in.

We were put in pairs and given Locations around Dublin. I went with Aoife and we were selling at the gates of Trinity College. I was super excited.

When we got there we started selling it was such a great experience. Every time someone walked by I would wish them 'Merry Christmas' and some donated.

There was two boys from Trinity going around and they gave me a sweet and said it was for my good work.

My sister then came and gave me a hot chocolate hehe I love her.

After we finished my box was really heavy! So that was good I guess

We then met my mom for McDonalds and starbucks.

Such a great experience and I has so much fun.

A Robot Chased Me!

Last Thursday Ty's headed out to Punchestown. When we got there Jenny, Aoife and I posed for pictures.

It was so interesting, we learned so much about road safety.

There was a robot called 'Tangobot' it was so cool omg!

The talk was pretty intense but it was very interesting.

I learned so much about being safe on the road. I will know be more careful on the roads. I will also be more weary of how serious a dumb move can be.

We were divided into teams and then given activities.

We each did around 3 or 4 each. The team that did best and won got a prize of a family day pass each!

It was so much fun and really educational.

Lets Bake!

On the 22nd of November our school held a fabulous bake sale! The school had felt the need to help the Philopeans during this hard time. All tys were to bake something. Ms L also encouraged the other students to bring in cakes. This would be a monster bake sale.

When I got home I started baking cookies, muffins, cupcakes and rice crispie buns. I baked 52 cakes over all.

The next day I went down to the classroom where all the cakes were being kept and it was amazing how many cakes were there omg!

By the end of the day all the cakes were sold and all the students had full belly's!!

In the end we raised over €1,500!!

THANK YOU ALL WHO BAKED! :)

DINNNG DONNNG

On the 21st of November. Ty headed to Citywest for a Schools Across Borders talk. There was a few others schools there.

The few weeks before the trip, in our religion class, we had to prepare a presentation. We did ours on 'Gender Inequality'. Our class worked hard and as a team to do this.

On the day each school gave their presentation  and then we were divided into different groups. We were mixed with the other schools and we were given a topic. Ours was 'freedom'.

Then there was a play performed for us. There was one line that stood out to me in the play 'I AM HUMAN LIKE YOU'.

After that we got yummy chicken and fries for lunch.

Then we had different talks from different NGOs. Theses were very interesting and I learned loads.

After that we went over to the other room to draw on a piece of long paper and we all put on thoughts down.

The day was so interesting and I had so much fun.

#MinionsForLife

On Friday the 11th of October. We had our annual fun walk. This is my favorite piece of friendship week its so much fun getting ready for it and planning the dance and the theme of our class.

1st Year- Pink
2nd Year- Purple
3rd Year- Green
Ty- Yellow
5th Year- Blue
6th Year-Black&White
My class as minions!!

We have had such a busy few weeks we only had a few days to prepare our dance. We picked the theme 'Despicable Me Minions" and the song 'Wanna Be' by Spice Girls. Our teacher dressed up as Gru from Despicable Me. It was so fun getting the dance together and learning it. I really got to connect  with the girls in my class. I knew the dance pretty well so i went to the front because I thought well if I'm going to make a fool of myself by painting myself yellow I might as well go the whole way.

Its natural i swear..;)
On the day everyone made an effort to be a minion and to get involved. We painted each other yellow and made google, and I must say I we did look goooood =) Our dance went great and Ms McM looked terrifyingly good;) It was such a good day and I got to help out with the road safety. I felt like even though I looked crazy and was sosososo hyper I had an even better day just cause I got so involved. I want to thank all the teachers, students and prefects for an amazing day! =)
Amazing dayy!

I will ALWAYS wear my seat belt in the car!

We recently had a talk on  Road Safety. And holy cow it was the scariest talk of my life! The videos were so vivid and terrified me. In a way the day was really good because I didnt really think about the effect a small things can have in a car. A thing as small as sending a small short text in the car can kill someone or cause a crash! He talked to us about all the road safety and how one small thing can save a life. We also had a theory test and i got 34 and the passing number was 35. All in all I learnt a lot.

Building a raft?!?!

No its building rappor. On wednesday 25th we had our final set of workshops. We were learning how  to build rapport, which is basically building relationships. We had to wear crazy wigs and masks and Emma was wearing a banana costume!! I also volunteered to help demonstrate bad and good ways of introducing yourself or having a conversation. It was another great experience with Denise.

Looking well Emma

Me and my bestieee=)

Our next workshop was all about makeup, skin care and learning how to tie our ties!! It was actually such an interesting one because i will take so many tips into advice when doing my make up or styling my hair.

yeah those are hair nets..
Last but not least was our workshop on work experience. It was held by our guidance councilors. We went over loads of tips for the work experience. It was actually so helpful and made me even more excited for working in the vet.

A trip to NAAS!!

On the 20th of September, our whole year headed off to Naas on a double decker bus. We were going to a talk on Mini Company. When we arrived our teachers hadn't warned us there'd be other schools...with boys!! :O

She gave us great tips on how simple ideas are the best and to try be inventive. We had a great laugh and great fun coming up with ideas for pens and paper clips. Some ideas even inspired peoples ideas the had already.

We the were allowed go to Mc Donalds yaaaaaay! yum yum yum and then we got the bus back to the school and we were in time for a few classes:( it was great though. I learned so much!!

The Wheels on The buss...

Laughter Yoga HAHAHA

So on the 18th of September the day after Carlingford we had more workshops. We were all so tired and I had a cold and felt horrible. I still went into school because I didn't want to miss the experience.

Our first workshop was the massage again. This time it was head massage. It was so relaxing, I felt great after it. It was so cool the way we learned how to take headaches away and how to help someone relax...I showed my sister the other day to help get rid of her headache and she it worked!! It was great experience!

Our second workshop was Laughter Yoga, it was so hilarious. We put on masks and had to fake laugh until our laughter become real. Some people didn't enjoy it and it was a bit different from things we usually do but you just have to get into and enjoy. It was a fun and weird experience.

Our final workshop was about walking in heels and skincare. It was my favorite of the 3 that day. I learned things that i would use in the future. It also inspired my idea for mini company. All in all the day was amazing even if we were tired.

Walking through the forest? In the middle of the night? Wearing a blindfold? Is that even safe?..

Laser Combat
Well seem idly it is.. as it was one of those amazing experience Ty got to experience this year in Carlingford. We had geat craic at laser combat then we started off by piling on our clothes and i mean piling on..it was bloddy freezing..if you know was the cold is like then double than and youd be half way there to the icy feeling of a night in Carlingford. Then we started walking up this massive hill and i mean massive hill. I fell a few times but sure a few cuts and bruises are worth it. When we were halk way there we stopped and played a gamw known as 'Forest Ninjas' and mean being the hyper enthusiastic person i am volunteered to be on. Everyone must go hid in the forest and i must find them before the 3 round are up..it was incredibly difficult. When the game was over we headed down towards the laser combat site to get to the Nightwalk course.

Laser Combat with Laura and Aoife
It was so exciting and also a being frighting! We all put on our blindfolds and I took the lead I was told that I would have to guide everyone through safely. It was so fun but Ben kept scaring us and making us scream. I fell and loads. But had great craic. It was so much fun and we scared the hell out of the other group. We had a laugh walking back to thwe centre. Messing about how scared everyone was and just having fun.

Jenny and I stuffing our faces
The next day we were due to go out on the water, kayaking. I was feeling a little tired and my head hurt a bit because I had banged it on the bunk bed. But i still wanted the experience. We got in to the wet cfold wetsuit and it was FREEZING! But i knew it would be worth it. We had loads of fun kayaking across and we went into a tunnel but I was so cold that I had to be taken out of the water and warmed up! I spent the rest of the day in the centre sleeping and warming up, I wasnt alone as two of my friends were sick too.

All in all the experience was amazing and i really would love to go again...
Aoife and I half asleep on the bus

The devil was in Castletown house?!?

So on the 12th of September after everyone had almost recovered from the night before, we visited Castletown House in the local area. It was raining and everyone thought we would have to walk in the rain ALL the way to Castletown House. Our history teacher then surprised us by saying there was a bus waiting out front to take us there..YAAAYYYY! :)

We then arrived at Castletown and we were all split up into our classes and the taken on a tour of the building. We started off by learning a bit of background history and looking at the main entrance...

We were then told about the haunting of Castletown, this is a story about a devil cracking a mirror and the fireplace and vanishing in a cloud of smoke.

Then we seen the bedrooms and the newer styled rooms..

It was such a great day and then we got a group photo and it was such an amazing experience and i am so happy I had a chance to go and see the house.

Dooms Day...

The moment of truth finally came. I was completely terrified. I hadn't done amazing in the mocks because I hadnt worked hard enough to achieve what I was capable of. When  received my mocks results i decided i would get everything up a grade. When I was lining up for receiving my results, my hands, legs and every part of me was shaking. They gave us our results in envelops, I was so terrified to open it. As everyone else began ripping them open. I stood there staring at it. I then said I quick bye and ran out to my mom and we opened it together. my hands were shaking but I eventually opened it and the first result I seen was a B and i started crying as I began to see my other results, I was so happy. I thought i had failed but I passed everything and got 7Bs.

My Moms friends were all calling and texting, asking how I got on. I was so happy! My Mom took me to lunch with my aunt and sister. I then went to get my hair and make-up done for results night. I was going to mantra with my friends. My mom had surprized me with new heels and a dress. I was so excited. When we went out I danced all the night long and enjoyed the day. All in all I loved spending the day with my mom and the night with my girls. I am delighted with my results.
